Hosting services
This page is designed to be a bit more than a price list. Instead of just giving you hourly fees (something you would see on most sites) our intention is to provide you a catalog with estimates on certain kind of projects. All the prices below are estimates, and the cost of your project can be completely different. .
Quoting – How it works
After receiving and accepting a quote you are kindly requested to pay a percentage of a module or a percentage of the complete work, in case the work is not modular.
If it is a larger project, we do our work and provide a test/demo version on our server. Upon your approval and the final payment, the project is transferred to your server/infrastructure.
In case it is a simple installation or modification, we install the final product on your server, which after you send your final payment.

Programming fees
Our programming hourly fee is US $40/hour for PHP, PERL, HTML, Javascript and most other languages we also do in-house or with constant partners. For C, .NET and other (generally not web) languages we cannot give you an hourly rate before knowing what we need to program.

Infrastructure and networking
We charge US $50/hour for networking and infrastructural work. Please see a few estimates below for certain works:
Squid proxy installation and configuration for 20 clients (from package): 3-4 hours (5 with Linux OS)
Firewall installation (10-15 rules, 20 clients): 3-5 hours
Sendmail (from package) : 3 hours (10-15 min/ extra domain, 15 min /10 users)
Jabber instant messaging server: being recalculated
Asterisk PBX system : 4-5 hours with (1-2 sip providers, 5 extensions and 2 hard lines – varies on complexity)
Name server (Bind9 from package):
This is in not a complete list and your quote can look completely different. If it happens so, please do not be afraid to ask why.
Software installation
Our hourly fee for software installation is $45/hour US. We charge this price for OS installation, server and software installation. Excluded is proxy software, VoIP server software, and appliances aimed at infrastructure/network.
Linux OS packages Web/SQL 3 hours
Linux OS packages – custom kernel, optimized, Web/SQL/basic mail/CMS system : 6 hours
BSD install: 3-4 hours set up as web/SQL server
Content management systems (PHPNuke, PostNuke, Joomla, Wordpress, custom systems) : 1:00-1:30 hours with 1-2 modules and basic configuration
Shopping carts (Xcart, osCommerce) : 2-3 hours basic configuration (varies a lot by size and needs)
Tracking software (AwStats, Webalizer, Web Trends, custom) 1:30 (10 mins/domain, 15 advanced)
Mailing list manager (PHP List): 1:30 with mail setup
Affiliate software (Ultimate, Jrox, Xcart and osCommerce modules, custom): 2 hours with basic configuration
Forum software (PhpBB, Postnuke module): 1:30 hours (0:30-1:00 for modules)
Consulting
Depending on the type of service and documentation and/or reports required, we charge $40-80 hourly providing the consultation service.
On-site and handling charges
We will charge you for transportation, storage, importation fees and tax of equipment and/or other goods as we are charged by other service providers. We are not making any profit on such charges, however we charge for the time spent on arrangements and any other expenses that occur.
In case we have to work on-site, we charge a fee depending on distance and required transportation, and accommodation if necessary and not provided.
Normally we do not charge telecommunication fees, such as local phone calls and hosting for the development server. We will however might charge for long distance calls, hosting Internet usage, on-pager service or other communication services, but these will be detailed in our contract.
How we charge
Minimum chargeable fee is 1 hour, which after we charge in 30 minute increments after each 10 minute exceeded. For example a 40 minute work is billed as 1 hour, a 1:04 is billed as one hour, but a 1:10 is billed as 1:30.
On check payment
We accept check payments, however we will need to wait until the check clears. Clearing can take 2+ weeks with international checks, 2 days for national checks. You are kindly asked to send us certified checks, as those clear faster. If your check bounces, we charge you the penalty our bank charged.
Wire transfers and bank deposits
Wire transfers are OK. Please make sure you are paying for the transaction fees (usually it is a check box on the transfer form) . We can provide you with multiple Costa Rican banks for your convenience for transfers or direct (walk-in) money deposits.
Pay-Pal
We are a verified Pay-Pal merchant and it is our preferred payment method for international clients.
Cash
We also accept cash, but never through the post. Please do not send us cash this way, we cannot guarantee the safety of the mail and its contents. Paying in cash for on-site work is also accepted with the current exchange rate in Colones.
